MOUNTAIN DIVAS ~ WOMEN REACHING NEW HEIGHTS!

In 2000, Ellen founded an outdoor program, Mountain Divas, as a motivational fitness program for people who want to hike, run or climb their way into shape while experiencing the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. The basis for the outings is cardiovascular fitness. Strength, balance and agility are incorporated into the workouts, and the sessions can accommodate people at all ability levels. Depending on the goals of the individual athlete, (specificity of distance/type of event) a different type or level of workout is assigned. Ellen specializes in event preparation, whether it be your first 5 K running race, your first adventure race, or you're off to climb an 8000 meter peak in the Himalayas!

MOUNTAIN DIVAS ~ COACHING
Ellen is a USATF Level 2 certified running coach, education ongoing, and believes in science-based coaching and training. She has over 20 years of experience as a competitive athlete, from local events to international multi-day races. Ellen works as a team player and believes in a well-rounded and balanced approach to fitness. She demonstrates that with her own lifestyle. She lives it and breathes it, and is still competing as a Master's Athlete in several sports.

Mountain Divas sessions and outings can be customized, from one hour to one week.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE A LATE BLOOMER - At age 57, I never expected to set a new Age Group course record in the>Pike's Peak Ascent, achieve a 3:29 PR in the Boston Marathon or have a 4th place Age Group finish in the NYC marathon. I credit Ellen Miller and her sensible and scientific approach to coaching with these personal accomplishments. Before working with Ellen, I was overtraining and under performing. Like many of my running friends, my training log was full of "trash miles" and running with no particular intention. With Ellen's guidance, I am now focused on a program that is strategic, science based and crafted to bring good results. Most importantly, there is emphasis on respecting my body and preserving it with good nutrition, rest and recovery. Ellen's knowledge and professionalism is complemented by a litany of her own personal athletic accomplishments. She has a reverence for nature and mountaintops and brings joy to every aspect of her coaching style. This has been life changing for me. Ellen has brought balance into my running endeavors and as a "mature" athlete, this is critical if I am to continue to enjoy the pleasures of the trail and the road for many years to come....and maybe even a few more PR's!

"Trekking with Ellen in the Khumbu Valley was an extraordinary experience...with her own personal climbs to the top of Everest and Ama Dablam, connections with wonderful people in the Khumbu, her knowledge of personal fitness and acclimatization issues...but more than that, her heart for the people there and spiritual awareness that makes the overall trekking experience more powerful and profound on every level."

"Trekking in Nepal through the Khumbu Valley with Ellen was an Experience of a Life Time because of her knowledge of the region, the people, the culture and her intensive knowledge of the physical body and how it reacts at that elevation through this kind of challenge. On this trip, we  experienced Nepal and the Sherpa culture  in a much meaningful and deeper way than if it would have been through a large company;  Ellen shared her love of the country and the people with each one of us more as a friend than as a tour guide. We got to interact on a very personal level with Sherpas, their family, she arranged a private visit with the very powerful Lama Geshe....with which other trekking company would you be able to get this kind of experience? I can't wait to go another trip with her."
